History of IEIC

The International Electromedical Innovation Competition (IEIC) originated from PENA — Pekan Elektromedis Nasional, first held in 2017 as a national forum for students to present creativity and innovation in electromedical technology. Over the years, PENA was hosted by several institutions including Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, STIKES Widya Husada Semarang, Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta II, and Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya.

As participation expanded beyond national borders, PENA transformed into IEIC, adopting a global vision. Today, IEIC brings together academia, industry, and government to nurture young innovators and prepare electromedical professionals who are innovative and internationally competitive.

Electromedical Innovation Competition (EIC)

The International Electromedical Innovation Competition (IEIC 2025) is the prestigious evolution of the National Electromedical Week (PENA), which features a competition called the Electromedical Innovation Competition (EIC).

The EIC invites university students and innovators in the field of electromedical technology to compete in three main categories: Life Support, Signal System, and IT Healthcare.

The competition stages begin with the submission of a portfolio and a tool demonstration video, followed by an online presentation, and culminate in the Grand Final Battle. Submission deadline: November 27, 2025

Participating in IEIC means you are also automatically enrolled in all competitions: the poster, videography, and innovation fair competitions.

Scientific Poster Competition

The Scientific Poster Competition of IEIC 2025 is a prestigious platform for medical electronics students who are developing or innovating health technology devices to pour their ideas, research findings, and scientific breakthroughs into a powerful visual design. Here, complex concepts are transformed into an inspirational and easy-to-understand graphical narrative.
